This tournament is only 45 minutes down the road from campus, and it's being organised by us. That's right - despite the trials and tribulations of the bar renovation, we're STILL the only people holding regular Garlando tournaments.

There's a ton of reasons you should go to this tournament.
Firstly, it's cheap. We're minibus-ing it there and back to avoid accommodation costs, there's NO TABLE FEE for first-time tournament goers, and entry is only £12 or £13 for novices.
Secondly, it's novice-friendly. With four events for novices, you're only paying £3 per event - even less if you're lucky enough to be female. Also, the Swiss format in NPD means you're guaranteed to get loads of games no matter whether you win or lose them.
Most importantly, it's great fun - in the past, going anywhere in a minibus has resulted in plenty of banter and misbehaviour (especially where Dan is involved). Then once you're actually there, you get to enjoy the food and drink, laugh at me when I lose to Louise Brice, watch Tommy B come second in the open events - on top of actually playing foosball yourself.

Pre-registration for the Holywell Open is available right now, at this address:
http://britfoos.com/Events/UKDiary07/Holywell_Open/

Grab yourself a partner and pre-reg right away so we know you're coming.

If you need a partner, have any questions, want to start banter with other society members etc, post in this thread.

I'll go defence with you if you want? Not 100% guaranteed I can make it but should be able to. What sort of time would we be getting back (to campus I'm guessing)?

The time you get back will depend on what transport we have. If we use a minibus then everyone will presumably be travelling together, so you'll have to wait for the last person to finish. If several people drive cars then you'll have to leave when the drivers do but that would a bit earlier. Either way I don't think there's much chance of getting back by 7/8, I would plan for 10 at the earliest.

* Realist.

No-pro doubles will end quite late. Definitely don't plan anything for the Saturday night, you will not get back at 7/8pm unless you forfeit some matches.

Of course you could always be optimistic and say you'll be back early, but that's not based in reality. :P

Ignore that smiley. I actually don't see what could be more important than a national tournament.
