obv you should stress how we've arranged it so that people can turn up on just one day and collect their prizes at the end of that day if they want cos its not obvious from the announcement - should help get players like blanchard etc

5-5 format for Open Singles and Open Doubles sounds like fun, but in all fairness isn't it likely to over-run loads? The whole 'Events Continue' bit makes it look like you're planning for it to as well. Doesn't this put the 'Only need to turn up for one day' plan in jeopardy if Open Singles or Open Doubles have to be continued on the Sunday?

I got the impression that people really liked the last Holywell, so there could be even more at this one...

Though actually, now I look at it a second time, you've probs considered this already by putting only the shorter events (ND, WS, WD) with the Open ones.

Good work then, I suppose. 5-5 format should be immense :)

Good answering your own post.

The formats are pretty similar to the Warwick Open this year with a similar number of tables. The events continue on sunday morning bit is just so we have the option of playing the OD/OS final on the sunday instead of finishing at stupid o'clock providing all players involved agree to this. This wouldnt affect prize money.

Sounds great. As long as the landlord is still serving those awesome bacon and cheese baguettes then this tournament could well be even better than the first. Wonder if any of the top flight players will come to rob you of your Open titles this time... Would love to see an Open Singles final of Nubbert V Rob Atha lol :D

Some people from Oxford need partners for a few events in case anyone is interested:

Partners wanted for Holywell Open II:

Naeem Kaka (SP): OD and SPD
Peter Franklin(SP): just SPD
Thomas Nubbert (A): just OD
Saadat Iftikhar (A): OD and AD

Naeem and Pete are almost exclusively defenders. I'm sure Nubcock can fill you in about TNub. Saadat can play anywhere apparently = defence.
