The University of Warwick Table Football Society

Weekly Sessions

We meet twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays at 6pm in the Pool Room, Students Union. The pool room is opposite the terrace bar on the first floor - you can't miss it. These sessions form the core of the society and are a great opportunity for members to get to know each other. This is one of the best ways to improve your foosball skills, and have a drink at the same time! We currently use a Garlando World Champion table, owned and maintained by the society and we have 2 more tables in storage for bigger events.

Here's what you can expect at the sessions:

Gametypes

Killer

Killer is a type of winner stays on however the amount of goals scored by the losers is carried over to the new challengers. This is often played during our thursdays sessions as the games are short and your never off the table for too long.

Rollerball

Here the ball must be continually rolling so no pinning! This will definitely speed up your reactions.

2-ball

As the name suggests this game is played with 2 balls which are put in the table at opposite corners. While both balls are on the pitch they must be moving and must not be pinned. A round is played until both balls have been scored or when one is scored and the team that has scored stops the ball by pinning or otherwise.

Rotorball

This game has many varities but there is one basic rule that whenever your team score they must all switch positions. So if there are 2 of you the attacking player switchs to defense and vice versa. It is often played with 4 people to each team so one person to each handle and with multiple balls and is easily the most insane format ever. We are playing 4-man 4-ball rotorball on the tuesday week 2 and it promises to be insane.

Goalie Wars

This is played with only the goalie and defence, all the other rods are turned upside down so they don't get in the way. Then you battle it out to score against your opponent from far back.

Forward Shoot Out

This is baisicly a penalty shoot out where each player takes it in turns to try and shoot from there front three men. Once the attacker starts the ball rolling he is not allowed to stop it dead by pinning or otherwise

Draw Your Parnter (DYP)

A type of doubles tournament where everyone is partnered up randomly. It is often abbreviated to DYP and can lead to some interesting match ups.
